AVTF 1 Pre-Production Unit

Here are the materials you will need for this Unit. Be sure to follow all of these steps in order before attempting this fairly difficult project

1st - Watch the video on Pre Production here. Review and Print (if necessary) the powerpoint for Broadcast Script Terms

2nd - Watch the screencast for storyboarding here . I have also included Storyboarding basics to help. If you think you have to be a good artist to draw an effective storyboard, then think again. Here is a video about how anyone can storyboard -  Storyboarding as a bad artist

Good Storyboard Example

3rd - Using the Storyboard Template successfully create a working storyboard for the scenarios listed. Each storyboard must contain 6 shots with an accurate description for each shot. Each group member must complete.

Storyboard Assignment

4th - Watch the Scriptwriting Screencast here. Use this Script Template to tell a story (1:20 - 2:00) of the day in a life of an inanimate object. The script should be at least 2 pages in length and include shots and dialogue. Work as a group to write the story. Remember that all stories have a beginning, middle, and end.

5th - Finally, your video project for this unit will be to create a video for a Day in the life of _____. You can find the rubric here. The video will contain spoken dialogue and will continue to focus on matching action and continuity. No human faces can be shown. This is about the object, not the person. You will adjust your script and create a full storyboard before filming. Please look over the rubric carefully.
